AES delivers certified handling systems and projects to support Deep Diving operations throughout the overboarding launch and recovery process.

Mobilized either sides of a Diving Support Vessel (DSV) or on a Moon pool, the system is certified with 30,000lb SWL, capable of lifting, overboarding and recovering a manned Diving Bell with a full laden weight of 22,000lb (10,000kg).

Designs and fabrication to conform with the rules of ABS Lifting Appliances Guide 2014 and ABS Underwater Vehicles, Systems & Hyperbaric Facilities 2014.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The A- Frame configuration is designed out of a box section construction manufactured in three sections, two Leg sections and a top Crossbeam and boomed in and out through the use of main luffing cylinders which are hydraulically operated.

System includes Main Bell Wire Winch, Guide Wire Winch and Umbilical Wire Winch as part of the ancillary equipment package.

Bell WIRE WINCH:

Bell Wire Winch is used for normal launching and recovering of the Diving Bell and is typically mounted in a purpose built frame assembly located in close proximity to the Diving Bell System. A light variable tension feature is included in the designs for in-water lowering and raising of the bell to prevent undue snatch loading and slack rope from developing.

Guide WIRE WINCH:

The Guide Wire Winch is used for launching and recovering the Clump Weight. The Clump weight Winch unit will typically be mounted local to the Diving Bell System in a similar purpose built frame as the bell winch.

The guide wire winch is capable of recovery of Bell and Clump Weight to the surface, provided as a secondary means of subsurface recovery of tethered manned underwater unit.

As an additional extended capability, AES Handling System is capable of simultaneously handling and recovery of Clump Weight plus Wire Rope and Diving Bell in air weight as a secondary means of recovery if the Deck Crane is out of reach.

UMBILICAL WIRE WINCH:

Umbilical Winch system to provide a method for deploying and recovery of an Umbilical Cable with Spooling guide pads that assist with the layering of the Umbilical Cable onto the drum.
